The Guide
A field guide accompanies each book. The guides give our agents detailed information about the world of the book, including culture and other fun tips for surviving as an Agent who is time travelling in the period. By encouraging imagination, these guides will allow agents to develop their critical thinking skills and empathy as they are transported to the world of their mission – ever wondered what an 19th-century Chinese pirate eats for lunch?

Challenges and Activities
Children learn 22 x faster with play. Within each box your Gumption Squad Agent will receive accompanying activities that relate to the month’s story, adding to their training as an elite special agent. They will learn about the experiences of the Agent’s that came before them to build with their sense of community along with critical thinking, code breaking and problem solving tasks. All vital skills for an Agent to build.
Online Training / Agent Dashboard

Junior Agents have access to a closed portal on the website. They can login to access the latest footage from the field, sent by our Ferret Squad surveillance team. Keep your eyes peeled for the dreaded Boondoggle and his team!
Online they will also be able to access audio recordings of the stories. Along with more tasks, fun resources and challenges.
Events
Our Gumption Squad Agents will be invited to exclusive, in person events. They will be able to meet fellow agents and characters from their adventures, as well as honing their agent skills. They might round up the day by devising plans to defeat the Micromanagement Society.
These events will be organised with Children’s Events Experts: Sharkey and George.

Gumption Squad is more than a children’s subscription service. We have built a whole world to inspire your youngsters. In joining Gumption Squad, they become part of a community. An elite secret service that encourages reading, team work, critical thinking and empathy. Monthly missions ensure that children enjoy learning outside the classroom.
We have built a sense of community. An historic secret service with agents operating at different levels all over the world. Each agent plays a vital role in completing the month’s mission, leading to an overall win for the community as a whole. Agent’s will feel a sense of accomplishment in themselves but also in terms of their contribution to the community.
